What is a Root Canal? Do I Need It?

Root canals are small, narrow tunnels that run through the middle of your teeth. When this area becomes infected, the infection can spread through the root canal and into your gums. This can lead to toothache and gum pain, which is a good indication that you need a root canal. The good news is that root canal procedures can rid your teeth of the infection without actually removing your infected tooth!

Root Canal Procedure

The root canal procedure removes the infection from the center of your tooth. This means you can avoid tooth removal and prevent infection from spreading throughout your mouth.

During the procedure, our highly-skilled dentists will remove the infected tissue, clean the hard tissue, and finish by filling the area. To minimize your discomfort, we offer various types of sedation for your procedure. Most often, we complete the treatment in-office, but in some cases, we may refer you to an endodontist.
